Why Locals Love Rm Nabila Farhan
Situated along the tranquil stretch of Jl. Kapten Halim in the heart of Purwakarta, Rm Nabila Farhan is a culinary gem that invites diners to savor authentic Sundanese flavors in a serene, nature-embraced setting. This local restaurant specializes in traditional Indonesian fare, with particular acclaim for its signature Sate Maranggi and Cobek Ikan, dishes that have clearly won the hearts (and taste buds) of its loyal patrons.
From the first bite, the Sate Maranggi impresses with its tender, marinated meat, perfectly grilled to smoky, juicy perfection. As Siti Masropiah attests, “Sate Maranggi nya enak bgt,” a testament to the rich, savory depth that permeates the skewers. Complementing this is the Cobek Ikan, bursting with complex flavors and fresh, local spices that awaken every bite — a dish so beloved it draws repeat visitors.
The dining experience at Rm Nabila Farhan is enhanced by its charming ambiance. Guests can choose to relax in the lesehan seating out front, as recommended by Jamaludin Yasykur, where sweeping views of the gentle Balong Lele water channel create a soothing backdrop. This intimate connection with nature—paired with the gentle sounds of flowing water and the surrounding greenery—transforms every meal into a peaceful retreat. For those opting for the rear area’s traditional saung (thatched huts), the rustic atmosphere carries a more nostalgic feel, though some patrons find the setting less maintained.
Vegetable lovers will appreciate the Cah Kangkung, praised for its vibrant, fresh taste and perfectly cooked texture. Meanwhile, fans of freshwater fish will find the Gurame Cobek a delightful highlight, delivering a satisfying balance of flavors that linger memorably on the palate.
Beyond the tantalizing dishes, Rm Nabila Farhan impresses with its welcoming environment. Wahyudin eloquently describes the feeling of dining here: “Makanan yang nikmat dan suasana kolam ikan asri, tempat ibadah yang nyaman serta persawahan dengan sungai berbatu di bawah sana.” Indeed, the lush fish pond and nearby rice paddies, coupled with accessible prayer facilities, reflect the restaurant’s thoughtful integration within the local community and landscape.
While some practical considerations exist, such as the somewhat distant toilet facilities requiring guests to step outside and access the adjacent mosque, the overall dedication to maintaining quality and authenticity remains unquestioned. The moderately paced service only reinforces a relaxed, unhurried dining rhythm that invites guests to truly savor each element of their visit.
For anyone venturing to Purwakarta searching for genuine Sundanese cuisine paired with a calming rural ambience, Rm Nabila Farhan offers more than just a meal—it provides a nourishing experience that stirs both the appetite and the soul.

Cah kangkungnya oke pisan.
